I am working with a few other people from my church in the hopes of launching an Orphan Ministry. We're in the meeting with the pastor/researching/gathering info stage. I would love your help! Do you have an Orphan Ministry at your church? If so, would you be willing to share your church's website link or leave some info about it in my comments section?!?
Thanks for your help!

I am working on the same thing! A few women from our church are going to the Christian Alliance for Orphans summit in MN this month. The conference sounds like the perfect place to gather information and learn how to start an adoption/orphan ministry. I know that Show Hope has resources (books, etc.) about starting an adoption ministry as well. Good luck! I will be following your blog for your ideas too!
I was just going to say that I would love to see our church do the same thing and I know I have looked at some of the materials on the ShowHope.org site. They have LOTS of info on how to get your church started and they even have a matching fund for helping churces getting it going. check it out!
Oh my heart is to do this too. A year ago I downloaded all the stuff from SCC's site....but our church is so small...I am not sure it could work.
I know my house will be full, when I bring Mame home....(four kids, one parent)...so I would love to do something to help other orphans have homes.
I'm not sure if this is the same type of thing you're talking about but New hope Uganda is amazing :) http://www.newhopeuganda.org/ I watched some of the Youtube videos about them and they are just inspiring.
Hey girl! YEP, we have one! I'm so excited to hear that you are launching one too!

And actually, it isn't on there, but we just started partnering THIS MONTH with a local foster care organization about Safe Families, a temporary help to families in crisis who need someone to take their child for a short-term basis. We are trying to recruit Safe Families in our church and connect them with desperate parents in the community who need help.
I'm excited to hear about what you end up doing!
we just started ours in the Fall and have our second info seminar this weekend for families! here is the website: www.bcfLovedByChoice.net
and my blog and my etsy site tell a little bit about it, too!
We have an orphan ministry at our church - Elmbrook Church in Brookfield, WI - Our blog site is http://elmbrookorphanministry.blogspot.com/. It has been an amazing friendship of people and the support we all receive from it is so helpful and encouraging! Best wishes!!!
